The countdown has officially begun for AMD’s FSR 4.0 technology, which it is preparing to announce with its RDNA 4 graphics cards. So which games will the scaling technology be in? Here is the list
AMD is gearing up to announce FSR 4 technology alongside the RDNA 4-based Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards. In this context, the company will reveal the technical specifications, prices, and release dates this weekend. Now, we can say that the wait is finally over. Ahead of the launch, the list of games supporting FSR 4.0 has been announced.
It will support more than 30 games
For those who may have missed it, FSR technology was initially introduced in 2021, with updates like FSR 2.0 and FSR 3.0 offering enhanced frame rates and next-gen features over time. AMD has revealed that FSR 4.0 will introduce AI-driven frame rendering and interpolation. In addition, VideoCardz has shared further details about AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards.
The scaling technology will be supported in 35 games at launch, and is expected to exceed 75 by the end of the year. AMD is collaborating with major developers such as 11 Bit Studios, Activision, Ballistic Moon, Focus Entertainment, Guerrilla, Insomniac Games, Krafton, Naughty Dog, NetEase, Nixxes, Pearl Abyss, Sager, SEGA, and Torn Banner. On the other hand, let’s say that the new version can be applied manually in any game that supports FSR 3.1. Therefore, games that already support the technology will also be compatible with the new version.
Finally, new information has emerged regarding the performance presets for FSR 4. Unlike FSR 3.1 and DLSS, FSR 4.0 will not include an ultra-performance mode for scaling resolution three-fold (e.g., from 1280 x 720 to 4K). Performance mode, which scales from half resolution, will be the lowest setting.
