Riot Games has announced that it will bring back the Hextech chests that were removed from League of Legends with the next update.
Riot Games has released a new developer update and announced that it will bring back the Hextech chests that were removed in previous updates with the new update.
Hextech chests, which were removed from the game in previous updates, were an in-game box system that players could earn after mastering different champions.
New update video about Hextech chests:
These chests mostly contained costumes, allowing players to easily access them. Riot Games also decided to remove the drop mechanism of these chests by playing them, on the grounds that it affected their income, and decided to sell them only for RP.
This decision, which drew great backlash from players, brought about protests and boycotts. Players, who announced on all social media accounts related to Riot Games and League of Legends that they wanted the Hextech chests back, were finally planning a 1-day boycott of not playing League of Legends on February 28.
Riot Games, which announced that Hextech chests would return in today’s developer update, stated that Hextech chests would no longer drop with champion mastery, would be included in the free part of the Battle Pass, and could only be earned up to 10 times in each season section.
